We're hiring a skilled and passionate SOUS CHEF (Full-time position)

Que Pasa is a Latin American-inspired restaurant located in the heart of Hamar. Our concept is rooted in bold flavors, colorful dishes, and authentic ingredients — from Peruvian ceviche and Brazilian moqueca to Nikkei techniques and street food from Mexico. We are now looking for a Sous Chef who will work closely with our Head Chef and play a key leadership role in both the kitchen and the team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing day-to-day kitchen operations alongside the Head Chef

  • Ensuring high standards for food quality, hygiene, and safety

  • Leading the team during service and stepping in as kitchen manager when needed

  • Organizing prep lists, delegating tasks, and coordinating service flow

  • Contributing to seasonal menu development and creative input

  • Managing orders, stock control, and minimizing food waste

  • Supporting training and onboarding of new chefs and apprentices

  • Collaborating closely with the front-of-house team to ensure a seamless guest experience

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has formal culinary training (certificate or relevant experience)

  • Has at least 2 years of experience in a similar position (Sous Chef, Senior Line Cook, etc.)

  • Works well under pressure and keeps calm and organized in a fast-paced environment

  • Is passionate about bold flavors, regional ingredients, and cultural storytelling through food

  • Takes pride in leadership, teamwork, and high standards

  • Communicates clearly in English and/or Norwegian

  • Work schedule: Tuesday to Saturday 15-23 — always off on Sundays and Mondays!
