Project description
The position is devoted to carrying out a project entitled "ThreeD – Duplicate Divergence in three Dimensions", funded by the Norwegian Research Council. The aim of the project is to explore the emerging hypothesis that evolutionary selection on 3D genome organizationdrives gene regulatory evolution following whole-genome duplication (WGD)
High-throughput 3D genome mapping with Hi-C will be performed across species to map and model 3D genome organization after WGD at both tissue and single cell type levels. Development of novel tools and methodologies catered for such analyses will be central for the position.

Qualfication requirements:
- Applicants must hold a degree equivalent to a Norwegian doctoral degree in bioinformatics, computational bioscience or a related field. Doctoral dissertation must be submitted for evaluation by the closing date. Only applicants with an approved doctoral thesis and completed defence are eligible for appointment.
- Experience with development of computational tools for analysis of Hi-C (or related) data
- Fluent oral and written communication skills in English.
Desired qualifications:
- Experience with software and/or pipeline development (using e.g. Python, C++, or similar)
- Experience with the use of high-performance computing (HPC) systems
- Proficiency in UNIX/Linux and Bash/Shell scripting
- Experience with reproducible analyses and workflow systems
