HVAC Discipline Lead

Role overview
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Discipline Lead to support and manage HVAC engineering activities across all phases of major projects. The role involves technical leadership, contract understanding, design development, supplier follow-up, and coordination with multiple engineering disciplines. You will ensure high-quality HVAC deliveries from concept to handover while guiding and supporting the HVAC team.
Main responsibilities
- Lead the HVAC discipline throughout project execution across all engineering phases.
- Manage team tasks, deliverables, and progress, support team members with individual tasks when mandatory.
- Coordinate HVAC scope with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and consistent project execution.
- Analyse contracts and specifications relevant to HVAC scope.
- Participate in technical discussions and reviews with clients and project stakeholders.
- Develop HVAC basis of design, HVAC philosophy, and system descriptions.
- Produce and review schematic air flow diagrams, D&ID drawings, and related documentation.
- Select HVAC equipment based on capacity, performance, and project specifications.
- Provide input to the 3D model and ensure design interfaces are correctly maintained.
- Follow up suppliers throughout engineering, fabrication, and delivery.
- Offer senior HVAC expertise from concept through construction and handover.
- Participate in multidisciplinary reviews, design assessments, and project decision processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of HVAC experience from large offshore projects (greenfield experience preferred).
- Track record in team leadership and discipline coordination.
- Experience with HVDC/wind projects is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of relevant offshore standards.
- Structured, detail-oriented, and committed to quality and deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Excellent communication skills with a proactive and knowledge-sharing mindset.
- Full professional proficiency in English and Norwegian.
