Brygga Restaurant & Bar is a family-owned restaurant located right by the sea in beautiful Risør. We are now looking for a dedicated and positive chef to join our team full-time starting from October.

About the role

This is a hands-on chef position where you will be working in the kitchen without staff responsibility. For most of the year, you will be the only chef on shift, so independence and reliability are important. During the busy summer season, our kitchen expands to up to 8 chefs, with a total of 16–18 staff working in the restaurant.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and cooking dishes from our varied menu
  • Making traditional Norwegian Christmas food (November–December is high season for this)
  • Working both day and evening shifts (kitchen open until 22:00, weekends until 23:00)
  • Occasionally helping with catering and takeaway orders
  • Contributing to a positive and welcoming atmosphere for both guests and colleagues

Who we are looking for

  • A chef with experience and passion for cooking – especially if you have experience with Norwegian cuisine and Norwegian Christmas Food.
  • Someone who is reliable, positive, and enjoys working both independently and as part of a team
  • Language: An Scandinavian language is an advantage, but English is absolutely fine
