So – what are your skills? 

Duties and responsibilities

We are looking for talented engineers for our electrical department, who has ambitions to take part of leading Vard in the green transition. The successful candidate will join a dedicated team of electrical engineers, with unique possibilities to lead interesting and challenging projects from concept to final product – Shipbuilding A to Z. 

Vard Design and Engineering, Electrical Department is through the role as integrator, the coordinating interaction between suppliers of computer-based and electrical systems in order to integrate them into a vessel-wide system of systems.

  • Functional design and engineering of ship safety systems such as, emergency stop, fire detection and alarm, CCTV, PAGA, tele- and radio communication systems.
  • Ensure that ship safety systems are engineered according to building specifications and applicable rules and regulations for the maritime sector.
  • Gather supplier documentation, familiarize with the solutions and describe vessel-wide system integration.
  • Participate in further developing the deliverables of the Safety, Digital & Cyber team.

Qualifications

  • Relevant Education within Electro, Automation, OT and IT, or related fields
  • Relevant experience (we encourage any experience level and seniority to apply)

Advantageous with experience in these fields:

  • Fire Safety and Hazard Management
  • Control Systems and Automation
  • Human Factors and Ergonomics
  • Digital Network Infrastructure design, deployment and operations
  • Knowledge of IMO regulations (e.g., SOLAS, MARPOL), flag state requirements, and class rules (e.g., DNV, ABS, Lloyd’s Register).
