Design Engineer — Crunched (Oslo)

Crunched builds autonomous AI systems that operate inside Excel to automate strategy, modelling and financial workflows. Already used by professionals at BCG, Nordover Capital, Insead, Harvard, Explore, Arkwright, Connaught, and Placepoint.

We're backed by YC, raised 55M NOK, and just completed months in San Francisco. We're now assembling the core Oslo team — and we're hiring a Design Engineer who will own how users interact with our AI analyst.

This is a rare role where design, engineering, and product thinking merge.

What you'll do

• Design and ship production UI/UX for autonomous Excel workflows

• Prototype rapidly with engineering and iterate daily based on real user feedback

• Create intuitive interfaces for complex financial and analytical tasks

• Own everything from concept → prototype → production

• Shape the visual identity, interaction patterns and product direction

• Work directly with founders, engineers and top-tier users across Europe and the US

Who you are

You're a hybrid designer–engineer with a strong product sense and a track record of shipping. You care deeply about clarity, speed, and reducing complexity for users doing advanced work.

You likely have:

• Strong frontend fundamentals (React/TypeScript)

• Proven design portfolios (UI/UX, data-heavy interfaces, dashboards, B2B tools)

• Experience shipping full features end-to-end

• Ability to convert messy workflows into crisp, intuitive interfaces

• High tempo, ownership mindset, and comfort in intense startup environments

This role is 5 days per week on-site in Oslo.
