Who we are

Founded on the belief that a country’s natural resources belong to its citizens, the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) brings together governments, civil society, and companies to improve natural resource governance. With over 50 member countries and 60 supporting companies, the EITI promotes transparency, accountability and informed policymaking in the extractive sector.

Behind the small but ambitious and impactful organisation is a diverse and dynamic team of experts, ready to welcome you and support your learning as you navigate the EITI Standard and its global implementation. Based in Oslo, Norway, the EITI International Secretariat comprises a collaborative and multilingual team of around 50 professionals who value growth and development. Whether over a shared meal or an informal discussion, we believe in building strong relationships that help us work effectively together and inspire trust among our stakeholders.

The Francophone Africa & MENA team supports EITI implementing countries and contributes to the work of the EITI Board. From organising training and events to producing publications, the team works on a wide range of issues, including anti-corruption, revenue mobilisation, the energy transition and state-owned enterprises.

Who you are

We are seeking a highly motivated, dynamic and detail-oriented individual with strong analytical and communication skills and a keen interest in stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will support EITI implementation in member countries across Francophone Africa, managing competing priorities and contributing to impactful country work.

This is a short-term position from August to December 2025, with the possibility of extension into 2026.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support EITI implementation in selected Francophone African countries, including communication with national stakeholders and partners.
  • Review and analyse EITI reports, data, work plans and other key documents.
  • Assist with stakeholder engagement and respond to country-level requests.
  • Conduct research on natural resource governance and contribute to regional strategy and planning.
  • Support EITI data analysis and update regional content on the EITI website.
  • Help organise webinars and regional training events.
  • Assist countries in preparing for Validation, including tracking progress and documentation.
  • Support Validation teams with report analysis and stakeholder consultations.
  • Contribute to the preparation of publications, Board papers and other documentation.

Qualifications and Experience 

  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and French.
  • Knowledge of natural resource governance and the region is a strong asset.
  • Experience with teamwork, project coordination and multitasking.
  • Comfortable working with shifting priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with attention to detail and comfort working with technical documentation.
  • Experience maintaining websites, trackers and clear communication materials.
  • Skilled in organising meetings, events and administrative tasks.
  •  Experience working in international environments and with global partners is an asset.

The position is Oslo-based, with a gross annual salary range of NOK 521,000 – 600,000 depending on relevant experience. It is also possible for remote working set up subjected to the candidate's location.
