Altera Infrastructure specialises in designing, providing and operating floating production, storage, and offloading units (FPSOs) to extract hydrocarbons in deepwater and harsh weather conditions. We have more than 50 years of experience as an independent FPSO operator.
We deliverer large, technically complex major projects in the offshore energy industry, some of them owned by us and some operated on behalf of other owners.
Development, contracting, and execution of such large-scale projects requires advanced contracting, engineering and project management excellence.
We are now looking for a COMMERCIAL MANAGER to lead commercial and contractual negotiations for new operations and maintenance (O&M) service contracts.

Some of the things you will be doing
- Drive the development and implementation of commercial strategies, ensuring adherence to legal, regulatory, and corporate guidelines.
- Lead negotiations for contracts, securing favourable outcomes that balance risk and opportunity, including development of contractual documentation (Terms and Conditions of Contracts, Annexes, Contract Maps, etc.).
- Review and finalize contract documentation, including amendments and variations, in collaboration with Legal, Operations, Insurance, and Finance.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to confirm financial assumptions, risk profiles, and operational feasibility.
- Collaborate with Operations and the supporting functions to elaborate and revise budgets and strategies.
- Provide leadership and guidance on commercial procedures, mentoring team members in best practices.
- Collaborate with senior leadership on commercial strategies and deliverables, including development of decision gate approval requests, reports and forecasts.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders on commercial matters, ensuring all parties understand contractual obligations and processes.
- Resolve or escalate commercial disputes, working with senior leadership, Operations, and Legal to achieve the best possible outcomes.
- Develop, maintain, and improve commercial policies and frameworks.
Qualifications and experience we want you to have
- Commercial Expertise: Strong grasp of contract law, financial modelling, and risk assessment. Project Management experience and certification is advantageous.
- Negotiation Skills: Demonstrated success in leading complex commercial negotiations and contract finalisations.
- Analytical Mindset: Ability to synthesize large volumes of financial and operational data, identifying key risk and opportunity factors.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal English skills, with the capacity to present clear, concise information and elaborate commercial terms. Norwegian, Portuguese, and French are advantageous.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience aligning diverse teams (Finance, Legal, Operations) to a unified commercial strategy.
- 10 years + experience from the oil and gas industry, preferably in project management and/or operations.
