About the position
NHH's Department of Finance is seeking to add faculty members with an internationally competitive research agenda. Candidates should have a strong research record or potential, as demonstrated by existing working papers, and ideally by publications in top-tier finance journals. The school primarily seeks applicants with a degree from a high-quality international institution. Applicants should have completed, or be close to completing, a PhD in finance or a related field. We are interested in candidates within all areas of finance.
The position will involve teaching and supervising students. NHH expects high teaching standards from its faculty members. Candidates for the tenure-track position as Associate Professor, who cannot document at least 200 hours of pedagogical coursework at the time of promotion to a permanent position, are offered the NHH program on basic pedagogical competence and must complete this program within two years. Candidates hired for the tenure-track or four-year position as Assistant Professor must take one basic module of the program during the fixed-term period.
NHH offers
We offer a seven-year tenure-track position, either as Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, depending on qualifications. As a successful tenure-track Associate Professor, NHH will grant a full professorship, all dependent on specific criteria. We also offer a four-year Assistant Professor position. Four-year Assistant Professor of Finance position will only be relevant for successful applicants who cannot be hired in a tenure-track position due to the regulations related to such positions. In particular, to be qualified for the tenure-track position, it should not be more than five years since the PhD degree was achieved.
Salary is negotiable according to Norwegian State Salary Scale. External research grants and teaching in executive programs offer opportunities for supplementing this salary.
