About the position:
The Researcher position of two years will be affiliated with the Environment-friendly Energy Research center – HyValue that focuses on the entire value chain for hydrogen – production, distribution, use, regulations, safety, and commercialization. The successful candidate will be attached to the Advanced Nano materials for Clean Energy and Health Applications (ANCEHA) research group at the Department of Computer science, Electrical engineering and Mathematical sciences, at Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL), campus Bergen.
We are looking for Researcher candidate having excellent research experience in synthesis of nanomaterials clean energy applications. Experience in solar energy based green hydrogen production technologies will be preferred to this position.
The position may be extended depending on new funding opportunities.
Workplace is campus Bergen.
About the work tasks:
- Design, synthesis, and characterization of materials
- Design and development of catalytic reactors & protocols for catalytic reactions
- Develop prototype devices for various hydrogen research disciplines
- Data analyses, interpretation, and reporting
- Mentorship of PhD, MSc students
Qualifications:
Qualification requirements:
- PhD in a relevant discipline
- Excellent research experience in synthesis of nanomaterials clean energy applications
- High-quality publications within relevant topics
The following qualifications will be given special emphasis:
- Experience in solar energy based green hydrogen production technologies
- Ability to develop and implement new research ideas
- Experience with writing research proposals related to the topic
- Ability to contribute to develop patents and manuscripts
- Experience from working performing advanced experiments
Personal characteristics:
- Excellent speaking, writing, and communication skills
- Confidence in working independently and proactively

Applicants should indicate which publications or parts of publications should be given special consideration in the evaluation. If the documents submitted are not in a Scandinavian language or in English, the applicants must submit certified translations of these. The transcripts must specify the topics, the course works, and the grades at the bachelor`s and master`s degree levels.
Applicants with a degree from a country other than Norway, need to attach a certified translation of the diploma and transcripts of grades to English or a Scandinavian language, in addition to the original documents, if the original is not in any of these languages. It is required that the applicant encloses a recognition document showing that their degree is equivalent to a Norwegian bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or PhD. The Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills (HK-dir) offers an automatic recognition document for certain degrees from selected countries. The position is compensated according to position code 1109 Researcher.
