About the Role

Sperton Norway AS is hiring on behalf of a leading banking client for a Site Reliability Engineer / DevOps position based in Oslo. This is a great opportunity to join an exciting and impactful project focused on improving system reliability, automation, and performance in a financial technology environment.

About the Client

You’ll be working on a critical project for a well-known bank, helping improve the performance and reliability of their platforms used across Europe.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support production systems and environments

• Monitor application performance and respond to issues quickly

• Improve system reliability and reduce incidents over time

• Automate deployment and support CI/CD pipelines

• Set up and maintain alerts and monitoring tools

• Troubleshoot issues across the full technology stack

• Work closely with global teams across time zones

• Mentor junior team members and share knowledge

• Be available for on-call support on a rotating schedule

What We’re Looking For

Must-Have Skills:

• Linux & Shell scripting

• Knowledge of ITIL/ITSM processes

• Experience with CI/CD (Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket)

• Monitoring tools (Splunk, Dynatrace preferred)

• Application troubleshooting skills

• Basic SQL knowledge

• YAML / Groovy scripting

Nice-to-Have:

• Basic knowledge of Ansible or Chef

• Experience with event-driven architecture
