Technical Safety – Senior Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Technical Safety Engineer to support tender work, studies, and detail engineering within major oil and gas projects. The role covers a broad range of technical safety disciplines and needs strong analytical capabilities, solid regulatory knowledge, and the ability to work effectively across interfaces and project phases.

Main responsibilities

• Perform technical safety tasks in tenders, early-phase studies, and detailed engineering.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and technical and company standards.
• Work with tools and systems such as STID, ARIS, and DOCMAP.
• Collaborate closely with multidiscipline engineering teams and contribute to high-quality, safe, and compliant design solutions.
• Provide specialist responsibility within several of the following areas:
• Active fire protection systems.
• Passive fire protection.
• Fire and gas detection.
• Area classification.
• Hydraulic calculations (e.g., deluge systems).
• Technical working environment.
• External environment assessments.
• Safety analysis and coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Technical Safety Engineer within the oil and gas industry.
• Strong understanding of technical safety standards, regulatory frameworks, and design principles.
• Experience with STID, ARIS, and DOCMAP.
• Ability to work independently, systematically, and with high attention to detail.
• EX Awareness certificate.
• English: Native or bilingual proficiency.
• Norwegian: Full professional proficiency.
