We are preparing for the spring/summer season at Kafe Knusarn and Henningsvær Guesthouse, are you our next team members? Summer in Lofoten is beautiful. We are looking for self-starters who are detail oriented, guest focused, positive, and team players. Specific language skills are required.

We are looking for people who are focused on the guest experience and can communicate clearly both within the team and to our guests. Our mission is to provide a welcoming, cozy environment and team members should feel comfortable offering that while also being detailed in their daily work. Some days can be very busy and require strong multi-tasking skills, while others might require you to be self-starters to find tasks that cannot be done when busy like cleaning / organizing / taking inventory.
We find that more and more guests come from Asia, so we are especially looking for staff who can communicate effectively to those guests. Due to accommodation limitations, we encourage couples to apply.

Language requirements

• English (working language)

• Chinese / Mandarin (required)

• Norwegian

• Other language skills are a plus

Arbeidsoppgaver

This position is for someone who likes variety in their days. Some days you might be working in the cafe and others you might be preparing breakfast and helping with housekeeping of our guestrooms. Specific tasks of the jobs can be found below.

Cafe Server / Barista

• Prepare cakes and pastries to be served

• Welcoming guests and taking orders

• Making and serving a variety of coffee, drinks, and food

• Cleaning of cafe and public spaces (ie. bathrooms, dish etc.)

• Checking in and checking out guests, communicating information to them about their stay and answering any questions they may have about the area and/or property

• Collecting payments from guests

• Assisting in bakery / kitchen tasks (Knowledge of Asian cuisine is a huge plus)

Breakfast / Housekeeping

• Preparing and serving breakfast to all guests in house

• Cleaning cafe after breakfast so it is ready for the normal opening hours

• Preparing and cleaning guestrooms after checkout and before checkin.

• Notify managers of any broken / lost / damaged items in the guestrooms and assist with finding a solution

• Preparing and communicating details to the next day staff

• Cleaning of public spaces on property
